Review: Sante Styling Mousse

If you have curly, frizzy hair like me, you might need a leave-in product to tame your locks. For me, that always has been styling mousse. Hair gels are obviously not an option with long hair, and waxes never provided enough “support”. Mousse was my only option, but it was always a love-hate relationship between the two of us. I was and still jealous of those women that get out of bed, comb their hair and are good to go. With me, it’s wetting it, combing wet, putting in product, leaving air dry, and working product a bit looser (otherwise it would just turn crisp and look bad).

When I learned about natural cosmetics, and synthetic ingredients, it turned out my hair mousse was very, very toxic. That freaked me out a bit, because I couldn’t go a day without, and would I find a decent replacement? I didn’t want to look like an explosion went off on my head without something to keep things under control.
I tried to find a natural hair mousse in the same price category as my previous hair styling product. And failed. Turns out, if you want a product that is really ok ingredient wise, you have to pay more. So I eventually went for styling foam from German brand Sante.

The test

This foam is a bit less solid than my toxic one. It feels a bit more “wet”, but it’s still foam. I use it just the same as I would any hair mousse. The only difference is I can use less from this foam so that makes up for the higher price. My hair stays in shape, gets volume, and yet it doesn’t get rock hard like my previous styling mousse. My hair feels very soft using this. The smell isn’t great, but not bad either. It doesn’t smell as unnatural and overwhelming as my previous one. I definitely like this one better. I can say only positive things about the performance of this hair foam!

Review on Sante hair styling mousse

Since turning natural, I found my hair behaves better in general. There are days when I don’t go out that I don’t use my styling foam and limit things to a stay in serum or just some argan oil, and it’s okay that way! When I go out, I still use my styling foam though. This way a bottle lasts me a loooong time, and that way the higher cost doesn’t bother me at all anymore. It’s a winner!
