Review: Harmonie foot balm

I admit, my feet can use some extra care sometimes. If you are chronically ill you are happy to get yourself washed in the morning with the limited energy available. Extra pamper sessions with body cream and foot balm are usually being skipped. A session at the pedicure is also not an option, and so my feet are maybe a bit of a neglected part of my body. No wonder I was happy to be able to test a nourishing foot balm from web shop Solobiomooi

Harmonie is a brand that was completely unknown to me. Apparantly this is a Dutch brand of natural products that has been on the market for 30 years already. They’re the first ones to have received the BDIH label in the Netherlands.

Their foot balm comes in a big jar of which I’m not that big of a fan. You have to put your fingers in it to get out product, and that makes it easy for bacteria to enter your beloved cream. Of course you could use a spatula or something, but I choose to just wash my hands before entering the jar. Transforming this into a pump system would be even better though!

The balm itself, I would describe not as a balm but as a rich, thick cream. I like this texture, and I usually take a bit more than I should out of the jar. It feels so good to put a thick layer on my feet, putting over soft, fluffy bed socks and let the cream do it’s job (and to avoid the floor, carpet and coach to get cream all over them at the same time). The structure of this cream makes it easy to rub in, without much effort.

The ingredients that work their magic in this foot cream are: organic sunflower oil, organic calendula oil, bees wax, organic shea butter, organic avocado oil, organic coconut oil, organic jojoba oil, camphor, thyme, Iceland moss, organic calendula extract, eucalyptus, menthol, sanddorn oil, elemi oil, niaouili oil, carotene oil and manuka oil. Wow!

The smell thanks to the thyme is nice, but kind of strong. My boyfriend is a bit less enthousiastic than me about this smell, he finds it too overwhelming when I come sitting next to him with my cloud of thyme and eucalyptus hanging around me. If you have a cold though, this will do your nose good!

My feet are noticeably softer when using this cream. According to Harmonie, sweaty feet should benefit from it too, but I can’t test that, thank you very much :-).
The effect on tired, painful feet and legs is something I did experience. After a few minutes it felt as if a relaxing glow came over my legs!

For me, this is a great foot crème. It’s for sale at Solobiomooi for 9.75 € for a jar of 110 ml. This product has not been tested on animals.
