Review: Aroma Naturals Soft Whipped Butter Crème

A while ago, before I knew their competions are only open to US residents, I participated in a giveaway from a brand I’ve used and liked before: Aroma Naturals. Happy to discover I won the competition, it was a tiny bit of a downside that their giveaway programme was meant for locals only (I do understand though). Because I had my mind set on trying the great looking body butter that was the prize, I asked if it would be possible for me to pay for shipping. They kindly made an exception for me and I’m so grateful they did.

I loved to find in my package not only some extra samples for me to try, but also a personal, handwritten note. I can really appreciate it when companies put in some real personal effort like this and it made me extra excited to try all the nice looking products.

The review: Aroma Naturals Soft Whipped Aloe Vera Butter Crème

Today’s review will be about the main item I received: the Soft Whipped Butter Crème. It comes in four varieties: Natural Mango butter, Pure Cocoa butter, Raw Shea butter and Aloe Vera, which I am using at the moment.

Costs: 10.80 $ for 5 oz (142g). You can buy it here on iHerb.

Aroma Naturals says this formula will hydrate quickly and help restore long lasting moisture to your skin. It’s all natural, bioactive, allergy friendly, gluten free, non-GMO. The butter crèmes are made using cold phusion. They can be used on body and face. Not tested on animals, and they're vegan.

The packaging

This crème comes in a firm bottle. As always, it’s cover is printed on a water-free and tree-free label, which is an eco-feature I like. What’s special is that the bottle has an airless eco-friendly pump system. I love this as it’s very hygienic to work with: your fingers never touch the rest of the product inside. The pump also makes it possible to easily dose the amount of crème you want.

The smell

I find the smell from the Aloe Vera crème not to be extremely good, but not bad either. It’s so lightly scented it’s almost neutral which I don’t mind. The Cocoa butter really smells like cocoa butter, which you would have to be a fan of, but I quite like it. The Shea butter again is to the neutral side. Mango smells more fruity, but not too overwhelming.

The experience

A little really goes a long way with this, so make sure not to start overly excited. Just a small drop is enough to cover a big surface.

Although this doesn’t sink in your skin immediately, after a rub it’s absorbed entirely. My skin feels hydrated and soft, yet not greasy at all. It has a lovely glow to it, and really looks natural.

I have to say I can be a bit lazy with the body moisturizing, and don’t apply stuff like this enough. But where my skin used to be very scaly before at all times (I couldn’t just jump in a skirt without pulling out the moisturizer first), now it’s much better. When I see after a few days it starts to get dry again, or when I feel my body begins to itch a bit, I grab my Aroma Naturals bottle and I’m all good for another day or two-three.
I didn’t use the crème on my face as that skin is very sensitive and I didn’t want to risk anything. So no comments on that part, sorry guys!

With regards to the price: yes, chances are it’s more expensive than your regular body lotion. But you’ll go a long time with this bottle, I promise!

I really like this moisturizer. It feels way better than my previous synthetic, greasy Dove lotion. Now I’ve learned that regular “moisturizers” contain petroleum byproducts giving you the illusion of a good hydration. But what they really do is putting a plastic layer on your body which makes it impossible for your skin to breathe and care for itself. Natural oils get stripped away and the vicious cycle of dry skin – plastic layer – dry skin is born. Do yourself a favor and invest in a good, natural, healthy moisturizer. It’s so important to choose something non-toxic as a body lotion, as you’ll be covering every inch of your body in it and leave it on for an entire day, only to repeat the process again.
I can really tell the difference with my skin before and after going green: it’s changed for the better!

Did you experience the difference too when choosing greener products?

  6. Thank you for reviewing the products. My first encounter with this line was when I bought a .5 oz jar of the aloe vera cream from a local grocery store. I used it for my face and I really liked it. The result was even better than my favorite product Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel, plus the peace of mind of knowing the ingredients are all natural. Thanks to your review I'll go ahead and switch to this line for long term.

    1. That's great to hear! And you're welcome, thanks for stopping by!
